Honduras Map

Honduras is 112088 sq. Km. Located in the Central American Isthmus, has three borders, the west one linking it with Guatemala, the southwest with El Salvador and the east with Nicaragua. To its north lies the Caribbean Sea and to the south the Pacific Ocean. With more than 800 km. of Caribbean coasts, it is blessed with some of the most pristine beaches in the Caribbean. The highest mountain in Honduras is Claque, with 2,849m. Above sea level.

Honduras has almost perfect climate all year round. The dry season is from November to April, rainy season from May through October. This undiscovered country claims a portion of the second largest barrier reef in the world. More than a score of world-class dive resorts are located on the offshore Bay Islands. Roatan, the largest and best know dive center is enjoyed by even the most discriminating scuba and skin diver.

Honduras has a low population density that has helped preserve their natural heritage. To preserve this heritage, the Honduran Government has passed laws declaring large areas of the country as wildlife preserve. In Honduras you will find the ancient Mayan City of Copan which has enthralled travelers since the mid nineteenth century. Copan is the focus of the most continuous sustained investigation in all of the Maya World.

Basic San Pedro Sula Tour
(3days/2nights)
Day 1 - Meeting upon arrival at the International Airport and transfer to your selected hotel for overnight accommodations.
Day 2 - Morning tour of Honduras most Dynamic City including the main sites. Afternoon at leisure to explore San Pedro Sula on your own. Overnight accommodation at selected hotel.
Day 3 - Transfer rom your selected hotel to the International Airport for departure.

Optional Tours from San Pedro Sula:
Full day Copan Ruins - Early morning departure for the western part of the country. Copan Ruins stands as a colossal monument to one of the world's greatest civilization, the hieroglyphics carved in solid stone gives us an idea of the type of culture which existed here before the Maya mysteriously disappeared without a trace.
El Cusuco Cloud Forest Reserve - The cloud forest is located just a few miles outside of San Pedro Sula, and is the source for most of the water consumed in the Sula Valley. The tour will take you in 4 x 4 vehicles into the heart of these reserves, from where you will proceed on foot through the interesting and clearly marked trails. (L)

Lake Yojoa and Pulhapanzak Waterfall
- Lake Yojoa, Honduras' only large lake, is surrounded by lovely forested mountains compromising some of the protected land of Honduras. Popular for its bass, it is becoming and important sports fishing center. Pulhapanzak Waterfalls drop into a natural pool that is great for swimming. The tropical environment is perfect for the adventurer who wishes to explore the surrounding area.

Lancetilla Gardens
- A wonderland of tropical effusiveness and variety. These gardens hold the most complete Honduras tropical gardens. Located next to the famous Caribbean port of Tela, you will have an opportunity to enjoy some of the best beaches of Honduras after touring the gardens.

MULTI - DAY PACKAGES
Copan Overnight

(2days/1night)
Day 1 - Early morning departure from your hotel in San Pedro Sula to Copan Ruinas located about 180 km away. Check into selected hotel and enjoy lunch before starting your guided tour of the Main Archeological Park. Overnight at selected hotel. (L,D)
Day 2 - After breakfast visit Las Sepulturas, Maya Residential Area and late afternoon transfer back to your selected hotel in San Pedro Sula. (B)

Tela Overnight
(2days/1night)
Day 1 - Early morning departure for the Caribbean coast and the port of Tela. En route you will have an opportunity to visit a banana plantation and to visit a Mahogany wood carving factory before arriving in Tela. Overnight at Villas Telamar.
Day 2 - Full day at leisure to explore this very popular beach side resort. Late afternoon transfers back to your selected hotel in San Pedro Sula.

Moskitia Adventure
(6days/5 nights)
Day 1 - Early morning transfers from your selected hotel in San Pedro Sula to La Ceiba, the third largest city in Honduras. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore La Ceiba on your own. Overnight accommodations at hotel La Quinta. (D)
Day 2 - After an early breakfast meet in the lobby and transfer to the airport for flight to Palacios. From Palacios the trip will be done by canoe to Belen where we will take a horse cart to Kuri. At Kuri we will take a motorized canoe through the canal to the Platano river. We will continue up the Platano river for eight hours until we reach the village of Las Marias. Overnight at a camp. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - Early morning departure by pipantes, canoes without motors, five hours up the river to see ancient hieroglyphs on the rocks along the river. These hieroglyphs are believed to have been carved by a lost Indian tribe, Paya, of which the Pech Indians are believed to be descendants. Overnight at a camp. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - Early morning wildlife watch. In the afternoon head back to Las Marias via pipantes Overnight at a camp. (B,L,D)
Day 5 - After breakfast board the motor canoes to back to Kuri. Overnight camp in a beach front cabin. (B,L,D)
Day 6 - Depart for Palacios at 5:00am to catch flight to La Ceiba. We will arrive in La Ceiba at 12:00pm and then transfer to San Pedro Sula.

Lanca Trails
(5days/4nights)
Day 1 - Meet your guide in San Pedro Sula and transfer to Claque National Park. In the afternoon visit the Colonial city of Gratias. Overnight accommodations in Claque camp. (L,D)
Day 2 - After breakfast departure for a hike through the trails of the Park, there will be time to swim at the Arcilas Hot Spring. Then transfer to San Sebastian and a visit to the Lenca communities of La Campa and San Manuel Colohete. Overnight accommodations in local homes. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - After breakfast, a 12 Km. hike through the forest to the Indian Community of Belen Gualcho. Overnight accommodations in local homes. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - After breakfast, visit to El Paraiso Waterfall (one hour hike) and transfer to Santa Rosa de Copan. Overnight in Santa Rosa de Copan. (B,L,D)
Day 5 - Early morning departure for San Pedro Sula or Copan.

Basic Tegucigalpa Tour
(3days/2 nights)
Day 1 - Meeting upon arrival at the International Airport and transfer to selected hotel for overnight accommodations.
Day 2 - Morning guided tour of the capital of Honduras, visit the national Museum of Villa Roy, the Colonial Cathedral, the Church of Los Dolores, the Leona Park and the modern part of the city. Early afternoon return to selected hotel for overnight accommodations.
Day 3 - Transfer from selected hotel to the International Airport for departure.

Optional tours from Tegucigalpa
Tegucigalpa City Tour - The tour will give you an opportunity to visit the National Museum of Villa Roy, the Museum of El Hombre, the Colonial Cathedral, the Church of Los Dolores, La Leona Park and the modern part of the city.

La Tigra National Park
- A magnificent cloud forest just one hour from the bustling city of Tegucigalpa, La Tigra features more then 2,000 species of native flora and fauna. The hike through the park's well-marked trails makes this trip a truly unforgettable experience.

Valle de Angeles & Santa Lucia
- These two former mining towns, just 30 minutes away from Tegucigalpa, give you an excellent introduction to the Honduran countryside. An Artisan school is located in Valle de Angeles, making this one of the best shopping areas in the country.

Colonial Maya

(4days/3nights)
Day 1 - Early mornings transfer from your selected hotel in Tegucigalpa for drive to Siguatepeque. After lunch, departure to the Yojoa Lake and a scenic drive through the small handicraft markets on the way to Copan. Overnight at the Hotel Marina. (L)
Day 2 - After breakfast visit the main Archeological Park. After lunch, the afternoon will be at leisure to further explore the park. Overnight Hotel Marina. (B,L)
Day 3 - After breakfast, visit Las Sepulturas, a Maya Residential area. After lunch return to San Pedro Sula and an overnight at the Gran Hotel Sula. Evening at leisure. (B,L)

BAY ISLANDS
An archipelago with three major Islands in the Northern Coast of Honduras. The Largest is Roatan, followed by Guanaja and Utila, the smallest of the three. The remainder ones are keys. All three islands are considered an underground paradise for divers from all over the world.

Roatan
