Guatemala, known as the land of Eternal Spring due to its excellent year-round weather (an average temp. of 75F) has a lot to offer. Located south of Mexico, Guatemala has a surface of 50,885 square miles. A small country with spectacular landscapes, having coasts on both the Pacific and the Atlantic, Guatemala has black sand beaches, tropical rainforests in the north and rich plains in the south.
The Maya selected Guatemala as the place where their civilization would flourish. Traces of their extraordinary work can be found in the pyramids of Tikal, the ruins of Iximche, and the stellar of Quirigua to name just a few. The Maya civilization is still present in the lives of the Guatemalan people. You will see it in the rich colors and designs of their weaving, as well as in their music, folklore and religious ceremonies.
